Forfante, forfanterie

Une forfanterie est une action de forfante, terme injurieux emprunté de l’italien forfante, qui signifie maraud, coquin, scélérat. C’est l’opposé d’honnête homme. Les mariniers, cabaretiers et hôteliers sont de grands forfantes (Furetière).
