During the Belle Époque, international and universal exhibitions flourished; so did the French quality and innovations. Pomp and luxury were placed at the service of products. France exported its equipment and kept leading the world fashion concerning perfume note, elegance of the bottles, and artistic taste for refined labels.

In 1900, at the Exposition universelle de Paris, Guerlain presented its products in a Louis XVI lounge. At the Brussels 1910 international exhibition, the main exhibitors chose to adopt very different styles: modern style for L. T. Piver; Louis XVI style for A. Raynaud, Empire style for Ed. Pinaud, jewellers’ showcases for Coty, etc.
